About Me
I’m Peter, welcome to my humble little site.
I’m based in Melbourne, Australia — originally from Ireland — and I work as a consulting technology architect across a wide range of organisations.
I’m a technology tinkerer on the side — usually a few projects on the go, trying new things to see how they work.
My interests include:
- Web technologies (mainly backend focus)
- Home Automation (using Home Assistant)
- Photography (Nikon, Fujifilm — street, landscape, people)
- Motorcycling (adventure riding, off-roading — Royal Enfield Himalayan, Triumph Scrambler 900)
- Cycling (Giant Trek (~2003) and Cervelo S3 (~2014))
Professionally, it’s 30-odd years now — from Dublin in the early days, through a range of industries in Australia, designing technology platforms and steering cloud transitions. More recently I’ve been working with generative AI, where the interesting work sits in the gap between what the tech can actually do and what everyone expects of it.
If you’re thinking about working together, the Consulting page lays out how I help — or just drop me a line and we can talk.
